There may have been times when you have felt a level of self confidence when you were engaged in a particular activity, one that you are naturally good at. At those times, you too, would have displayed a high level of certainty, which is a form of self confidence.
In effect, self confidence is a concrete and physical feeling that people experience within themselves; it is an emotional feeling that drives and fuels the belief that they can do what they want.
This self confidence is expressed by the way they portray themselves to the outside world by the means that they have at their disposal; through their facial expressions, through their gestures, their posture and, more importantly, through their dialogue: the way they talk and the words that they choose.
Having self confidence is the root that allows you to achieve your true potential in whatever situation in your life; including your relationships, your work or career, your finances, your self-image and self-esteem
You may have developed a feeling of self confidence in certain activities, such as driving a car, being a parent or managing your team. However, there may have been other circumstances where you found that you felt less confident, where you would have liked more self confidence.
Confidence is what you are thinking in the moment
It is important to note and remember that if you ever experience a feeling of self confidence in a given situation, you are more likely to feel confident again in a similar situation. This is because you had a positive experience to that event in the past.
With that in mind, over a short period of time you will find that you have a lot more self confidence reference points, and it will be easier for you to feel and become confident in more situations.
When you experience a lack of self confidence, it may stop you from striving for what you want in your life. This feeling of lack of self confidence can be the root of many complications and hardships that block you from achieving your desires. It can be like a large thorn that continually bursts the bubble of desire.
In the same way that you have learned to lack self confidence, you can also learn to have unlimited self confidence. And the simplest and quickest way to kick-start the engines of your brain, is to know and accept that self confidence can be an acquired process; it can be learned and formatted to suit all moments.
Knowing that this possibility exists opens the doorway to creating changes in your levels of self confidence. This is the starting point.
In much the same way that there are several areas in your life that you are unconfident, you will find that there are a few areas where you already are confident.
If you were to think about it you would find that you are even more confident in these areas than you might think.
Quite often you may find that you do not give yourself due credit for the things you are good at, because you are inclined to take them for granted.
Recognising your existing areas of self confidence is a very simple and easy way to begin to build a more confident you.
To enhance the self confidence you already have, you could take a few moments each day to acknowledge and appreciate yourself for when you do feel confident, rather than taking self confidence for granted.
